Revised Edition: Now Commemorating the Canonization of Saint Sophrony

In an era filled with "spiritual shortcuts" and techniques for self-calming, His Life Is Mine stands as a refreshing, powerful contrast. This is not a manual for relaxation, but a guide to the uncreated light.

Saint Sophrony of Essex explores the depths of Orthodox spirituality, focusing specifically on the Jesus Prayer. Far from being a mere mantra or a method for dissolving into an "anonymous Whole," Saint Sophrony reveals prayer as a face-to-face encounter with the personal God—the great "I AM"—who demands our own growth into true personhood.

About the Author: The life of Saint Sophrony (1896–1993) is as remarkable as his theology. His journey took him from the heights of the art world—exhibiting as a painter in the great Paris salons—to the deep silence of Mount Athos. There, he spent twenty-two years, first in the Russian Monastery of St. Panteleimon and later as a hermit in the "desert," before founding the Monastery of St. John the Baptist in Essex, England.

This new edition features a redesigned cover to honor the author’s canonization. It stands alongside his other essential works: Wisdom from Mount Athos, On Prayer, and St. Silouan the Athonite.
